Makeup & beauty trends 2025

As we move into 2025, makeup trends are focusing on personal expression, sustainability, and innovative techniques. Coming of the runways in Milan & Paris suggest a blend of bold, statement looks alongside subtle, skin-focused enhancements. As a makeup artist in Sydney I love to keep ahead of the trends for my clients so I can offer them the most up to date looks, here are my Key trends to watch for 2025.

  • Skinimalism: Fresh, dewy skin remains a favorite, highlighting minimal foundation and the use of skincare-infused products. A great product to try is Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF, a lightweight, skin-friendly serum foundation that provides coverage, hydration, and sun protection.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Vibrant shades like electric blue, neon green, and deep purple will make eyes stand out, often paired with graphic liner styles. The Huda Beauty Color Block Obsessions Palette offers bold hues perfect for creative, statement-making eye looks.
  • Sustainability: Eco-conscious beauty brands and refillable packaging are becoming even more popular. Kjaer Weis Refillable Blush is a luxury option with clean ingredients and a sustainable, refillable design.
  • Blush Revival: Heavy blush draping in soft, diffused shades will shape the face and create a romantic flush. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a buildable, long-lasting option that adds a natural pop of color. It works beautifully on brides as it stays in place—apply with a beauty blender over foundation for a flawless finish.

  • 90s Redux: Matte brown lips, thin brows, and smudged liner are making a comeback, with a modern twist for an elegant retro vibe. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in “So 90s” channels the iconic 90s look. Pair it with a pinky nude liner for a softer finish, especially on fair skin tones.
  • Multichrome Magic: Eyeshadow’s that shift between colors create a mesmerizing effect, perfect for experimenting with light and movement. Danessa Myricks Infinite Chrome Flakes offer iridescent, color-shifting flakes for a multidimensional eye look.
