Makeup for humid weather
We shot a the latest Fluidfrom Campaign in Fiji, which was incredible. Creating long lasting makeup looks in the heat isn’t without its challenges.  Mastering makeup in humid conditions may seem like a daunting task, but with the right techniques and products, you can still achieve a flawless look that lasts all day long.

Humidity can be a makeup artist’s worst nightmare. Whether you’re battling sweat, melting foundation, or smudged mascara, the struggle is real. But fear not! With the right techniques and products, you can still achieve a flawless look even in the most humid of conditions. In this blog post, we’ll explore some expert tips and tricks to help you keep your makeup intact and looking fabulous all day long.

Dermalogica active moiste1. Start with Skincare: The key to long-lasting makeup in humid conditions starts with proper skincare. Opt for lightweight, oil-free moisturizers and primers that will create a smooth base without adding excess shine. Look for products with mattifying properties to help control oil production throughout the day. I love Active Moiste by Dermalogica!

2. Use a Long-lasting Foundation: When it comes to foundation, choose formulas that are specifically designed to withstand humidity. Look for oil-free, water-resistant, and long-wearing foundations that won’t slide off your face at the first sign of moisture. Applying foundation with a damp makeup sponge can help sheer it out for a more natural look while still providing coverage. I love Tom Ford traceless matte!

3. Set with Powder: Setting your makeup with a translucent powder is crucial for keeping it in place in humid conditions. Focus on areas prone to shine, such as the T-zone, and use a light hand to avoid a cakey finish. Carry a pressed powder with you for touch-ups throughout the day to combat any excess oiliness that may occur.

4. Waterproof Everything: In humid weather, waterproof makeup is your best friend. Opt for waterproof or Tubular mascara, I love the Kevyin Acoin – It literally doesn’t budge! Set brows with a gel or brow freeze to prevent smudging and smearing. When it comes to eyeshadow, cream formulas tend to last longer than powders and are less likely to crease in the heat. MAC paint Pots are super longwear.

5. Blot, Don’t Wipe: Instead of wiping away sweat or excess oil with a tissue, gently blot the skin with blotting papers or a clean makeup sponge. This will help absorb excess moisture without disturbing your makeup underneath. Follow up with a light dusting of translucent powder to set everything back in place.

Look for setting sprays specifically formulated to lock makeup in place and provide a matte finish. Spritz your face lightly after applying your makeup and carry a travel-sized bottle with you for midday touch-ups. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless filter Spray.

7. Keep it Minimal: In humid weather, less is often more when it comes to makeup. Opt for lightweight formulas and skip heavy contouring and layering. Embrace a more natural look with tinted moisturizers, cream blushes, and lip stains that will give you a fresh-faced glow without feeling heavy on the skin.

From skincare prep to setting sprays, these tips and tricks will help you beat the heat and keep your makeup looking fabulous no matter how high the humidity climbs.
