Havana Heat

Fashion main Cuban1

The location for the main fashion story for January’s issue of Womans weekly magazine resembled one of Pablo escolar’s houses, an incredible spanish style mansion opening out to incredible views.

Our model for the shoot was the incredible Laura wells, who I’ve worked with numerous times, she has the most incredible face for makeup, full lips, great skin amazing brows – heaven!

The 9 page editorial entitled Havana Heat was shot by Kristina Soljo & styled by Leda Ross, we had Brad Mullins on hair and myself on makeup, talk about dream team!

The styling had a Spanish /Moroccan vibe, bright bold colours, sexy off the shoulder tops, floaty dresses.

I wanted the makeup to have that timeless feel but to also tie in with our latino theme. Latino woman are super sexy and embody a strong confident spirit, I was thinking Jennifer Lopez circa 1999 but cooler!  So I went with bronzed highlight skin, I gave the skin depth by lightly contouring with creams, this kept the skin looking dewy – almost sweaty. A bold brushed up brow and a winged linger, with depth and intensity in the eye socket.  I changed up the lip a few times, a dark matte nude and then a matte red to offset the skin on the skin.

Brad created a beautiful textured pony with a center parting which stayed constant throughout.
